Still Functioning

Against all odds,
She did the washing up.
Facing her greatest fears she
Left the house.
Despite what her head told her
Tomorrow did exist.
Despite running on empty,
She found the energy to move.
And to care and to cook
And to keep safe
And to eat
And to turn up
When it meant the most.
She might be suicidal but
somehow she’s still functioning.
